Here at Storybird we celebrate original stories and storytelling. We know that not all stories are suited to everyone’s taste or reading level so we take steps to help you direct your reading choices in our family-friendly community.
Our Public Library is accessible to all users - regular and student members. These are the stories written by our community members with public accounts (never student accounts) that you’ll encounter on our ‘Read’ page.
Every book that enters our Public Library has been evaluated by a real person on our moderation team to ensure each story is in line with our Community Guidelines. You can review our Community Guidelines here.
We have age-appropriate suggestions on our 'Read' page where you can select an age range when you’re searching for something new to read. These range from Kid (preschool) to Young Adult (similar to a ‘PG-13’ movie).
Generally, longform chapter books are for our older readers, and picture books for our younger readers.
We do not block students or users directly with age choices, but think of ourselves more like a bookstore or library that has different sections for readers based on age and maturity, where readers direct themselves (with the oversight of their parents and teachers) to stories and poems that are suitable.
