FOR KIDS: Alert explanation: Things Storybird does not allow

Last Updated: May 29, 2015 01:05PM EDT
Short explanation: Several parts of your story do not follow the rules of Storybird.

More info: Readers of all ages, and from all around the world, use Storybird. To keep all of our members safe and feeling welcome on the site, comments and stories are reviewed after they are submitted. If your public story or comment does not follow the rules below, our moderators will ask you to change it before others can read it. Here are some of the reasons we sometimes need members to edit their work:
  • If your story or comment contains or requests personal information that could make it easy for someone else to find you or someone you know (including full names, addresses, streets, school, library, or teacher names, club/team names, phone numbers or email addresses). Keeping you safe when you’re on Storybird is the law!
  • If your story contains made-up storylines about real people (including classmates, famous/historical figures, or celebrities).
  • If your story copies or is based on an idea, story, or characters that were created or owned by someone else (like fanfiction or stories featuring movie characters or song lyrics). It’s against the law for us to publish stories that aren’t your original work.
  • If your story or comment is offensive, overly violent or cruel (to humans or animals), contains cursing or hate speech, or is written to bully or attack or upset other users or groups of people.
  • If your story or comment contains advertisements or links to outside websites.
For more explanation, see the Storybird Community & Content Guidelines, or the other articles in the Understanding Our Guidelines section of this Help/FAQ.
